Il Dizionario dei Concetti biblici del NT (Coenen - Beyreuther - Bietenhard, EDB) dice in merito ad Atti 11:26:
"Sia questo che gli altri due passi del NT, nei quali ricorre il termine (At 26:28; 1 PT 4:16), fanno pensare che al nome fosse collegato un sottofondo dispregiativo da parte di gente estranea e in ciò non si disitnguesse dalla qualifica di nazareni. E' chiaro che in questo caso, come in tanti altri in cui l'apellativo ha avuto la stessa origine, si tratta di un titolo che è diventato ben presto onorifico per coloro che lo portavano".
